The Office of the Town Clerk is historical in its traditions, having served as a direct link between residents and their local government since biblical times. This office prides itself on having a friendly, relaxed and helpful atmosphere. We understand that the local government is a place that most directly affects people’s lives, and we are here to serve and assist you.
The Town Clerk’s office is also responsible for:
- Keeping minutes of all Town Board meetings which serve as the permanent, historic record of the Town
- Being the custodian of all Town records as well as the storage and disposition of active and inactive records
- Many duties related to billing and disbursing funds to the State, County, and local fiscal officers and also assists with state and internal audits
- Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Request (PDF)
- Issuing all permits/licenses including:
- Transfer Station Permits
- Dog Licenses
- Peddler Permits (PDF)
- Parking Permit for Persons with Disabilities (PDF)
- Marriage Licenses

- Appointed Registrar of Vital Statistics and in this capacity keeps birth, death and marriage records, which are issued in the Town Clerk’s office.
