The Dutcher Golf Course, established in 1890, is the oldest 9-hole municipal golf course in the United States (Golf Digest 2010). Originally named Pawling Golf Link, the 42-acre site is framed by low stone walls that also bisect the fairways. The greens are small but challenging and the tees for the back nine are in slightly different locations than those on the front.
The course is open to the public 7 days a week, April-November, from 7:30 until sunset Monday through Friday and 7:00 until sunset on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. The course has several leagues, and monthly tournaments and is available for private outings. The Dutcher offers affordably priced memberships as well as greens fees.
