Penalty-free period ends February 29, 2024, and must have the USPS stamp on the envelope.

TAX DATES TO REMEMBER

Town/County/Fire/Special District Taxes (better known as the Property Taxes) are due on or before February 29th in full payment.  This tax covers a calendar year from January 1st through December 31st.  Penalties incur as follows:

March 1st    2%

April 1st.     additional 1%

May 1st       additional 1%

Payments must be received by the Tax Collector on or before May 31 of each year.  After May 31st, payments must be made directly to the county.  Checks should be made payable to the Dutchess County Commission of Finance (DCCOF)

Important Information for Property Owners

New York State Law states whether you receive a bill or not, you are ultimately responsible for payment including penalties.  Once a bill is in the penalty stage, payment cannot be accepted without the penalty.
