Pawling Town Rated AA+ by Standard and Poors
Pawling, NY – On Friday, June 9, 2023, Supervisor James Schmitt announced that one of the world’s leading credit-rating agencies, Standard & Poors, has just awarded the Town of Pawling a AA+ bond rating, the second highest rating available. In their first report on the Town in 11 years, S&P cited “a strong local economy, strong fund balance, and established policies and procedures” as significant milestones for the Town, which previously had a Aa3 rating in 2012 from Moody’s Investor Service.
